Danko Arlington is proud to announce that Assistant Foundry Superintendent Ashley Lacy was featured in the season premiere of the hit YouTube web series Cast in Steel, which aired on July 9, 2026. The episode highlights Lacy’s exceptional teamwork and engineering skills in recreating George Washington’s historic battle sword.
The premiere showcased Lacy and her team as competing Virginia Tech students, a foundation that provided her with both the knowledge and skills to transition after graduation into a full-time leadership role at Danko Arlington. Her journey underscores the vital workforce development partnership between Danko Arlington and Virginia Tech’s Foundry Institute for Research and Education (VT FIRE), led by Professor Dr. Alan Druschitz.
For years, Danko Arlington has actively supported VT FIRE as an advisory board member. The company’s deep involvement with premier student engineering programs, including VT FIRE and undergraduate SAE Baja Racing teams—serves as a model pipeline for recruiting, training, and hiring top-tier manufacturing talent.
