On April 28, 2026, Danko Arlington hosted a specialized delegation from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation Division, based in Richmond, Virginia, for an immersive educational tour of its advanced manufacturing facilities. Sponsored and organized by the American Metal Casting Consortium (AMC), the event targeted DLA buyers, product specialists, and procurement personnel to deepen their technical understanding of critical defense casting commodities.
The comprehensive tour successfully demystified the complex industrial art of metalcasting. Danko Arlington demonstrated how vital military components progress from digital 3-D models to custom foundry tooling. Visitors observed raw production firsthand as sand molds were prepared, molten aluminum poured, and castings underwent heat treatment.
The delegation also reviewed the company’s advanced quality assurance and secondary operations. This included non-destructive testing (NDT)—specifically radiographic and liquid penetrant inspection—followed by high-precision photogrammetry dimensional verification, CNC machining, painting, and final military assembly. Danko Arlington truly appreciates the opportunity to support AMC’s vital workforce development to ensure a more resilient, synchronized, and highly capable DLA defense supply chain
