On November 17, 2025, Danko Arlington proudly welcomed back neigboring University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) SAE Baja Racing team for a hands-on facility tour. The visit underscored a long-standing partnership dedicated to fostering the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent.
The primary focus of the tour was to showcase Danko Arlington’s state-of-the-art foundry operations. Engineering students received a firsthand look at the commercial manufacturing process of a custom casting they designed specifically for their off-road racing vehicle.
During the event, the UMBC team observed the company’s industry 4.0 technology in action, including the creation of a 3-D printed sand mold and the live pouring of the molten metal casting. This untraditional classroom setting offered the students a rare, real-world perspective on how geometric digital designs transition into physical, high-performance automotive components.
Danko Arlington looks forward to continuing its multi-year relationship with UMBC, sustaining local educational growth, and supporting the future leaders of American manufacturing.
